The 2022 Garden of the Week Contest is now closed. Thank you to all the judges from the @notlhortsociety that volunteered to support the @cibcef Garden of the Week contest. A final congratulations to all the winners and the beautiful gardens that were nominated!

2022 is the Year of the Garden and in celebration, the popular Garden of the Week contest, organized by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Horticultural Society and Communities in Bloom (CIB), invites you to once again nominate a Niagara-on-the-Lake resident who has an outstanding front yard garden. The contest will run for 9 weeks, with gardens to be reviewed from July 6 to August 31.

To submit a nomination:

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the 2022 Garden of the Week Contest Nomination Form under "Surveys & Forms" for the week in which you are nominating
  • The garden must be a front yard garden within the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake that is visible from the road

The weekly deadline is Monday evening, with the nominations gathered on Wednesday for the Horticultural Society to review. Judging criteria are based on streetscape and curb appeal, personal expression and creativity, colour and texture, and maintenance and neatness.

The prizes awarded to the winners each week include a bottle of wine from Konzelmann Estate Winery, a gift card to Sunset Grill and Scotts Miracle Gro products. The winner’s gardens will be featured on the Town’s social media channels and in the "News Feed" at the bottom of the page.

This contest is affiliated with the National Communities in Bloom program that fosters civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification through community involvement.

The Communities in Bloom Committee would like to recognize the NOTL Local for partnering with their Committee in sharing weekly photos in the NOTL Local newspaper.
