Status of applications:

The Randwood Resort application is in the second review stage of the planning process and will follow the legislative requirements of the Planning Act. A recommendation of staff has not been presented to Council to date.

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake's Community & Development Services Department has received an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for the properties at 144 and 176 John Street East (Randwood Estate). The application is regarding a hotel and conference development with secondary uses that include restaurants and a spa.


How can I get involved?

The application is currently in the second round of circulation, where it is being reviewed by Town departments and external agencies. The public is also invited to get involved with this stage of the process. An Open House, for information purposes, occurred on January 25, 2018. Its details are as follows:

What happens after the Open House?

  1. A statutory Public Meeting will be scheduled and members of the public can speak in favour or in opposition to the application. This meeting is held in front of Council.
  2. Staff will consider the comments and questions heard at the Open House and Public Meeting, as well as review comments from other Town departments and external agencies, to form a position.
  3. Staff's position will be expressed in the form of a report to Council with a recommendation of approval or refusal. Council will be the decision-makers regarding this application.
