The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is inviting residents to share their input as part of the development of its first-ever Urban Forestry Management Plan (UFMP), a key initiative aligned with Council’s Strategic Plan and commitment to environmental stewardship.
The urban forest includes all trees and woody vegetation within Niagara-on-the-Lake, found in parks, along streets, in private yards, natural areas, and rural landscapes. These trees play an important role in enhancing the Town’s natural beauty, supporting environmental health, and contributing to overall community well-being.
As part of this process, the Town is seeking input from residents through a community survey open from May 6 to 27, 2026. Your feedback will help ensure the Plan reflects local priorities, values, and opportunities for the future.
Specifically, the survey will help the Town:
Understand community perspectives on trees
Identify priorities, concerns, and opportunities
Learn which benefits residents value most
Inform future policies, programs, and investments
Gauge interest in tree planting and stewardship
We encourage all residents to participate and help shape the future of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s urban forest.
