The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has partnered with the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake to organize a community-wide winter initiative called, "Celebrate the Season."
Celebrate the Season is a local winter event intended to encourage community engagement and inspire creativity as residents and business owners decorate for the Season. This first annual winter-long event is designed to highlight the many beautiful landscapes and natural features that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer.
In keeping with Niagara-on-the-Lake's historic landscape, and to achieve a sense of continuity throughout Town, the theme of this year's celebration is a "Victorian Christmas" featuring natural boughs and garlands, burgundy ribbon and soft white lights. While Victorian décor is the theme, all seasonal decorations are welcome, and creativity is strongly encouraged!
Residents and business owners are also invited to spread some cheer by posting pictures of themselves and their family members/coworkers decorating for the Season with the hashtag #decoratenotl.
Niagara-on-the-Lake really is the best place to Celebrate the Season.
We need your help! We want to know where the best winter displays are in Niagara-on-the-Lake! Navigate the map and drop a pin at a location with a great winter display. While you're at it, feel free to upload a picture, we'd love to see it! There are different pins for houses, businesses, churches, and wineries. The map also identifies properties included in the Niagara-on-the-Lake House Tour.
This map may be an excellent tool for those who love going around Town to see Christmas displays! If you spot another location with fabulous decorations, add it to the map and consider nominating that property or building using the nomination tab located on the homepage. Remember that prizes will be awarded to nighttime and daytime displays.
