Dock Area Shoreline Protection
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has engaged Shoreplan Engineering to design shoreline protection improvements along the park and shoreline between 25 Delater Street and 85 River Beach Road. The park shoreline is eroding and the historic culvert is vulnerable to wave action. The intention of this plan is to improve the park shoreline protection while maintaining the existing headland bay system and trees in the park as much as possible.
Shoreplan Engineering has submitted the final design, please share your thoughts below.

over 5 years agoCLOSED: This brainstormer has concluded.Three shoreline protection alternatives were considered, the preferred shoreline protection was Alternative 3 with Headland/Beach system. This alternative includes a cobble beach at the east end of the park, armour stone walls surrounding historical outfall, and a boulder berm along the west end of park.

We are asking residents to come and give us some feedback on design. Shoreplan Engineering will have the design and we also have information from the peer review for presentation.

Temporary Park Closure - Shoreline Protection Installation
Dock Area Shoreline Protection is currently at this stageThe Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has engaged a contractor, who will be installing shoreline protection. The contractor will be working on site, commencing Wednesday January 23, 2019. It is anticipated they will be finished in approximately two (2) weeks (weather dependant). The area will be reopened once the work is completed.
