The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is inviting residents to help shape the future of two community spaces by voting on their preferred playground design options for Memorial Park and Simcoe Park. This initiative is part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to investing in safe, inclusive, and modern recreational spaces for all.

The Memorial Park playground (installed in 2005) and the Simcoe Park playground (installed in 1997) are at the end of their life cycles and were approved for replacement through previous Council budget cycles. The new designs for both sites will include accessible features to ensure children of all abilities can enjoy the play areas.

How to Get Involved
From August 26 to September 9, residents can review two design options for each park and vote for their preferred choice.

  • Online: Submit your votes below.

  • On-site: Look for signs at Memorial Park and Simcoe Park displaying the design options and a QR code linking directly to the voting page.

Public feedback will directly determine which design is selected for each park, ensuring community voices are reflected in the final outcome.

This engagement supports the Town’s Parks and Recreation Masterplan, currently in development. The Plan will outline long-term strategies for all Town parks, guiding future investments in recreational spaces and ensuring a consistent, thoughtful approach to park and playground renewal. Community members are invited to review the draft Plan and provide their feedback. The draft Plan is available for public review on Join the Conversation.
