The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake would like to thank everyone who came out to all the public meetings. The feedback on the Master Plan was great.
We have added a FAQ section for this park. Also, we have selected the playground supplier and have scheduled an Open house (see Key Dates)
We want to hear from you! There are two ways you can participate. First, click the “Survey & Forms” tab and vote on where you think the Community Information Board should be located and playground colours. Second, click the “Feedback” tab and tell us your opinion about the playground designs. Public engagement will be taken on this Join the Conversation page until August 30, 2019.
Town staff talked with our Playground contractor and we can make some modifications to the existing playground plan. We need your input for the elements you would like to see. Please keep in mind that the budget and the space for the playground will not change.

A sidewalk runs southwest from Cannery Park Drive towards the northeast corner of Lions Park. A steep hill separates the two. Presumably since the town built a sidewalk there, a plan must exist for a staircase up the hill to connect the neighborhood to the park. What is the status of that plan? Would easier access to Lions Park affect decisions about what to put in Cannery Park? For example, given the large proportion of the park budget necessary for playground equipment, would it be necessary to duplicate the children's playground already available in Lions Park?
Why wasn't a basketball court included on the final master plan when it was part of all 5 concepts that were favored? It looks good but I was anticipating there being a basketball court since the playground would be repetitive since there is one at the Lions club park.
My husband and I attended the initial meeting for Cannery Park Design showcasing. My favorite is Concept 2. However I think a multi purpose hard surface would be much more versatile than a 1/2 basketball court. We plan on attending the meeting next week as well. Thank you

I hope you don't plan on making the next meeting a free for all so 50+ people can disagree on designing this park. Just pick one design and thats it, move on.
